of the few educational institutions that can identify students’
learning challenges and correctly address them”
Indian School of Excellence is one of the
primer in setting up a separate resource room facility for special education in
regular schools where children with Learning problems are given
remedial support.
The initiative was taken by the Principal Mrs. Rumana Ahmed,

relations. In the year 2007-2008, the Principal felt that the
children were not able to perform best though they had good

Then Mrs. Pooja Jha Nair Educational Psychologist was
appointed as free consultant. She established an informal resource
room in the year 2008-2009. Every year Assessment were done to
children with learning problems and specific programs were administered.
In the year 2009-2010, Special Educators were appointed and finally
formally a resource
room facility is being set up.
